Queens Gazette: Rego Park Senior Center Celebrates Chinese New Year

Today more than 250 Queens-area residents are coming together at Queens Community House’s (QCH) Rego Park Senior Center to celebrate Chinese New Year with cultural performances, dancing and lunch.

There are traditional Chinese dance and song performances; colorful decorations and attire;     DJ Ron Dellapina; 250 local community members and volunteers are attending, and partaking of a light breakfast and a traditional Chinese lunch, prepared by volunteer chefs.

The celebration is taking place from 9:00 am to 2:45 pm at QCH Rego Park Senior Center at 93-29 Queens Blvd, Rego Park.

Chinese culture influences much of the activity in QCH’s Rego Park Senior Center, and many of its participants celebrate the Chinese New Year. This is a large-scale community event. “Queens Community House offers a space to celebrate heritage, community and diversity for all community members, a cornerstone value of the organization,” said QCH staff.
