Community Matters: March 2026

Our latest Community Matters newsletter is a special advocacy edition: Queens In Motion: A Month of Advocacy—highlighting how our community showed up across New York during this critical budget season.

• LTW students and alumni rallied at City Hall, calling on leaders to restore $31M in funding and sharing powerful stories of impact.
• Community members and organizers pushed for funding for NYC Parks, lifting up the needs of neighborhoods surrounding Flushing Meadows Corona Park.
• Older adults joined a borough-wide call at Queens Borough Hall to protect essential aging services.
• YouthBuild participants traveled to Albany, meeting with state leaders to advocate for workforce development and opportunity.
