Meet Your Neighbor: Peter Merani

"I've been at QCH for almost three years and I've gotten to work on some great government proposals. My typical day involves working with our Chief Strategy Officer (Dennis) and our Associate Executive Directors (Mary, Ivonne, and Robin). We work together on program design, budgets, and other important proposal elements. I also work alongside program and division directors to get a more grounded sense for the program I'm writing about. I love the grant writing process because it allows me to get involved in and be a part of each program. I get to appease my love of writing while helping to secure funding for our amazing programs and staff. I'm particularly proud of the recent Department for the Aging (DFTA) grants we secured for our Older Adult Center expansion. Sidebar: anyone who knows me knows that I am a huge Marvel/DC fan so if you want to get to know me, ask me about Batman or Spider-Man (a fellow Queens community-builder)."
