Alma Reyes of QCH Speaks On The Need For Affordable Housing In NYC

By the end of 2023, Governor Kathy Hochul committed to 100% affordability at Creedmoor in Queens. In 2024, as a member of Queens Power, QCH continued to help address NY’s housing affordability crisis by calling for affordable housing in Brooklyn. On January 21 at First Baptist Church of Crown Heights, Alma Reyes of QCH spoke about the need for affordable housing in NYC.

Queens Power is kicking off 2024 supporting other state-owned sites in NYC where 100% affordable housing could be possible. We took the fight to use Public Land for Public Good into the heart of Brooklyn, where we are on the cusp of another major win: close to 1,000 units of 100% affordable housing at the site of the old Kingsboro Psychiatric Hospital in East Flatbush.
