Welcome to Queens Community House's Summer Youth Employment Worksite Resource Page!


Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) provides New York City youth between the ages of 14 and 24 with paid summer employment for up to six weeks in July and August. Participants work in a variety of entry-level jobs in the nonprofit and private sectors. SYEP prepares youth for the workplace with workshops on job readiness, career exploration, financial literacy and opportunities to continue education and social growth.

This year, SYEP runs from July 6 to August 21, 2020.

Who Are Our Participants?

Our participants are motivated and talented NYC youth between the ages of 14 and 24 who are interested in pursuing careers in the private, nonprofit and governmental sectors.

Reasons To Hire SYEP Participants:

No Cost, Low Risk:

  • SYEP participants are paid directly by DYCD and will not add any extra cost to your organization’s payroll

Management Opportunities:

  • Hosting SYEP participants can allow for additional management opportunities to build your staff’s supervisory and mentoring skills

SYEP is a subsidized program funded by the NYC Department of Youth & Community Development; all participants are paid $15 per hour for a maximum of 25 hours per week.
