Queens Community House is pleased to announce that Richard Anglin, Diana DiPreta, Tariq Islam, and Hope Plasha have joined as the newest members of its Board of Directors. All four members bring with them extensive experience in the business and financial sectors.
Anglin currently serves as Vice President of Information Technology at Credit Suisse, a leading financial services company. Previously, he worked for the American Stock Exchange and New York Stock Exchange Euronext. Before that, Anglin was a Data Forensic Compliance Consultant for Merrill Lynch as well as a Network Storage Engineer Consultant for Goldman Sachs. Anglin, a Cambria Heights resident, obtained his M.B.A. with Management in Technology from New York University.
DiPreta presently works as Senior Vice President of Community Development and Tax Credit Equity Investments at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Her previous roles included being a Senior Portfolio Manager at Bank for America Merrill Lynch, a Commercial Real Estate Underwriter/Credit Officer for Santander and a Commercial Portfolio Manager for Santander. DiPreta graduated from Binghamton University with her Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, Politics & Law. She received her certification in Real Estate Finance and Investment from New York University in 2006.
Islam is the Business Development and Client Relations Associate for AI Engineers, Inc. In the past, he worked as a Policy Analyst Intern for the City of Hartford in Connecticut and as the Executive Vice President of Trinity College’s Student Government Association. Islam earned his Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy and Law from Trinity College in 2012 and he went on to complete his Master of Science in Finance and Financial Law at the University of London’s School of Oriental and African Studies. In his spare time, the Astoria resident is also the director of the organization Public-Private Real Estate Professionals (PPREP).
Plasha is an attorney at Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler and has a broad-based real estate practice. She has done extensive pro bono work, including representation of small businesses in Queens’ Willets Point district. In 2016, she received The Urban Justice Center’s Community Service Award recognizing her work with this community. Plasha earned her Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and continued on to become a Doctor of the Science of Law from Yale Law School.
