QNS.com: Council Member Gennaro and Queens Community House to host blood drive in Forest Hills | March 2024: In an urgent response to the critical blood shortage affecting the nation, Queens Council Member James F. Gennaro has teamed up with the New York Blood Center and Queens Community House to host a community blood drive.
The event is scheduled for Wednesday, Mar. 27, at the Queens Community House’s Forest Hills Community Center, located at 108-25 62nd Drive, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The drive aims to address the national blood shortage crisis, which has placed unprecedented strain on healthcare systems, emphasizing the necessity of community involvement to ensure hospitals and medical facilities maintain sufficient blood supplies. The event, made possible through a collaboration with Queens Community House, underscores a community-wide effort to support local healthcare needs. “We are eager to work with Council Member Gennaro on this vital initiative,” stated Ben Thomases, Executive Director of Queens Community House. The organization is known for its commitment to fostering opportunities for community support across all ages.
