Meet Your Neighbor: Grace

"About 15 years ago, I really got into painting. I always wanted to as a child, but my parents were very strict. They'd tell me: 'you're going to starve if you become an artist', so I became a chemist. Now that I'm retired, I do a lot of painting. I really enjoy it so much.

One day, I went for a walk in Cunningham Park, and I noticed some people painting outside. I took a look at the great work they were doing and I quickly became friends with the artists. Louis invited me to the Pomonok Older Adult Center to paint. Now that I'm here, I see there are so many activities for me! Painting here has been great, and I'm looking forward to trying out the yoga and exercise classes next."
