MEDIA ALERT: Queens Community House’s Annual ‘Strengthening Neighborhoods Inspiring Change’ Gala to Honor 76th Secretary of the Treasury and New York Mets Legend

QUEENS, NY – (October 19, 2018): 2018 ANNUAL GALA MEDIA ALERT

WHAT: Queens Community House (www.qchnyc.org) will host its annual Gala on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at Museum of the Moving Image. Taking place for the fourth year in a row, and at a time when Queens families face more challenges than ever before, the 2018 Strengthening Neighborhoods Inspiring Change Gala will honor those who have made a unique and lasting contribution to QCH’s mission of providing individuals and families the tools they need to improve their lives and build healthy and inclusive communities.

Throughout the evening, attendees will immerse themselves in the spirit of philanthropy by networking with fellow QCH supporters, participating in an animated Live Ask and bidding, and out-bidding, each other on Silent Auction items. Attendees will enjoy live music, open bar, hors d’oeuvres, food stations and access to the museum’s interactive exhibitions.

WHO: QCH’s 2018 Strengthening Neighborhoods Inspiring Change Award is presented to individuals with generous hearts and a deep commitment to strengthening neighborhoods and inspiring change in Queens. This year's honorees are:

• Hon. Jacob J. Lew, 76th Secretary of the Treasury and former White House Chief of Staff, and
• Edgardo Alfonzo, New York Mets All Star and Manager of the Brooklyn Cyclones

Support for the Strengthening Neighborhoods Inspiring Change Gala helps QCH continue to provide comprehensive programming for 25,000 children, teens, immigrants, families and older adults across the borough.
